IDSA MedEd COP Announcements

The IDSA Medical Education Community of Practice (Med Ed COP) is currently accepting submissions for chalk talks. A chalk talk, a simple and low-tech teaching method, can foster active learning when presented in a way that engages learners in constructing conceptual frameworks. IDChalkTalks, a compilation of brief teaching scripts, is created by ID medical educators for busy ID clinical teachers. These scripts are reviewed by the IDSA Medical Education Community of Practice.

An ID faculty or educator can review an IDChalkTalk related to a patient the team is seeing just five minutes before rounds. This preparation ensures a well-crafted concise chalk talk that actively engages learners. These chalk talks will serve as a resource for other IDSA members, but they are also adaptable for use at your own organization or institution.

To submit a chalk talk, ensure your submission is submitted by April 1. For further details and to turn in all required documents, kindly click here.
